The Program in the Environment is the University's home for undergraduate environmental education. As such, we offer a range of academic programs. Depending on your focus and level of interest, you may want to concentrate ("major") in the Environment or simply round out another area of study with a minor in the Environment or Global Change.

The Concentration in the Environment requires a minimum of 32 credit hours. In addition to its prerequisite and core concentration requirements, the program features a Field Experience requirement that sends you off campus to work or study, and a Specialization requirement that allows you to pursue an area of your choosing in depth. Students concentrating in the Environment may also pursue a minor in Global Change if they wish.

If you're studying in another department, but would like to get some basic environmental exposure, you should consider The Minor in the Environment. This 17 credit hour program allows you to sample environmental courses in the natural science, social science and humanities disciplines without committing to an in-depth academic program.

Likewise, the Global Change Minor lets you explore issues of global change and sustainability while majoring in another academic area.
